The Indian Premier League (IPL) has produced breathtaking centuries and high-scoring innings in its short history. It has produced some of the most thrilling innings to ever take place in T20 cricket. Although Indian players have had their share of showcasing ability with the bat, overseas players have put on a show of brilliance as well. No one more so than Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and David Warner, have been notable foreign players to have smashed brilliant centuries in IPL. Some of those centuries were not only the fastest in IPL history but also among the fastest in T20 cricket. Below are the five fastest centuries scored by overseas players in IPL history. Will Jacks: In IPL 2024, England’s Will Jacks produced a blistering innings for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs. Gujarat Titans (GT) on the Narendra Modi Stadium pitch in Ahmedabad. He scored his hundred off just 41 balls—the fifth-fastest century scored by an overseas batter in IPL history. Jacks was not out on 100, hitting five fours and 10 sixes at a phenomenal strike rate of 243.90. His innings assisted RCB out to chase down 201 runs in only 16 overs, and it made one of the best innings so far in the tournament. Travis Head: Travis Head, the Australian opener had a very good 2024 season with SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and took the team to the final. Head smashed the 4th fastest century scored by an overseas batter against RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Head took only 39 balls to score his hundred made 102 runs from only 41 balls hitting nine fours and eight sixes at a strike rate of 248.78. this performance helped SRH to a total of 287-3—the highest ever team total recorded in IPL history. David Miller: South African sensation David Miller too finds his name there. During the season of 2014, he gave an extraordinary winning knock for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Mohali. Miller remained unbeaten on 101 from only 38 balls, lashing out eight fours and seven sixes at a fantastic strike rate of 265.78, steering his team home in an 18-over chase of 191 while at some point going through the dire situation of having lost four wickets for 64 runs. While playing for SRH against Kolkata Knight Riders in Delhi, Klaasen smashed the second-fastest century by an overseas batsman in IPL history. He scored an unbeaten 105 from 39 balls, with the three-figure mark coming up at 37 deliveries. His explosive knock helped SRH reach a daunting 278-3, and included 7 fours and 9 sixes that came at a strike rate of 269.23. Playing for RCB in the 2013 season, Gayle ripped through the Pune Warriors India bowlers at Chinnaswamy Stadium and made history. He smashed and unbeaten 175 runs off 66 balls. He scored a century in 30 balls, which included 13 fours and a jaw dropping 17 sixes, for a strike rate of 265.15. Gayle's memorable innings is still iconic in the history of the league.
