Pakistan have some disappointing news as their premier left-handed batter Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out of the remaining matches of the West Indies tour due to a hamstring strain. Fakhar sustained the injury during the second match of the T20I series in Lauderhill. The left-hand batter missed the third T20I match and now will miss the entire ODI series. He was replaced by the all-rounder Khushdil Shah in the final T20I match. His injury occurred during the 19th over, where he was running behind the ball to stop the boundary, but he was suddenly seen in pain. After some medical treatment, it was confirmed that he had sustained a mild strain in his left hamstring. So far, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not announced any replacement for the batter, and he is expected to start his recovery journey in the National Cricket Academy in Lahore under the guidance of PCB’s medical team. The 34-year-old batter had a decent outing in the first two T20Is, scoring 28 and 20 in the first and second matches, respectively. Fakhar has been a victim of regular injuries; this was not the first time he was ruled out of the series with injury, but he has faced such situations quite often this year. Earlier, he was ruled out of the Pakistan squad from the Champions Trophy in March. Meanwhile, Pakistan did a great job overall and sealed the three-match T20I series against the West Indies 2-1 after losing their first-ever T20I to Bangladesh recently. Mohammad Nawaz was awarded Player of the Series for his outstanding performance with the ball. He took 7 wickets in the series and scored 11 runs in two innings. This was the second consecutive home series loss for the West Indies team. However, they will look forward to bouncing back and winning the ODI series, which begins in Trinidad on August 8.
