With head coach Gautam Gambhir at the helm, the Indian team has prioritized fitness. Each member of the team must now undergo the Yo-Yo test, a multi-stage endurance and stamina test. The test was first initiated when Virat Kohli was the captain and has been again taken up by the BCCI. In recent days, social media has been buzzing with claims that India’s ODI skipper, Rohit Sharma, recorded an impressive Yo-Yo test score of 19.4 at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. Many fans even suggested that he had surpassed Virat Kohli’s benchmark score. However, the truth paints a different picture. Did Rohit Sharma Breach the 19-Point Mark? As per reports, there is no truth in the rumors regarding Rohit's score. The BCCI strictly follows a policy of not exposing players' Yo-Yo test results to the public. Not even the board makes individual scores public. Leaking of results by any player can attract penalties or, in extreme cases, be dropped from the team. This goes on to prove that whatever figures are floating online need to be taken lightly. Virat Kohli, who is otherwise with his family in London, too undertook his test there and passed it effortlessly. Talking to Hindustan Times, a BCCI official reaffirmed the significance of these tests: "Every player is required to take a pre-season fitness test, which is mandatory as per the contract. These assessments allow the Centre of Excellence to identify areas where players need improvement or may be falling short." India's strength and conditioning coach, Adrian le Roux, has also recommended incorporating the Bronco Test, a rugby-based test of endurance, to further improve the fitness of the players. With the Asia Cup 2025 to kickstart on September 9, these ratings are sure to put the players in top form before the pressure-packed tournament. As for Rohit's precise score, that remains a secret, but it's safe to say India's brightest stars are fit and ready to take on whatever lies ahead.
