The 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy concluded with an exciting end at the Oval Stadium in London as India registered a six-run victory on Day 5 of the last Test. India leveled the five-match Test series 2-2 with the dramatic win on the final day. Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj emerged as the match-hero for India, taking five wickets in a nail-biting last session. This series will be remembered as one of the most thrilling Test series between India and England. All five matches carried over to the final day and most had extremely close finishes. Fans were treated to competitive cricket from both teams, and a number of players played top-order performances throughout the series. Several records and created during this high-voltage clash between two of the finest Test playing nations. Players such as Joe Root, Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj and Ben Stokes performed brilliantly throughout the series. However, there were two players who played exceptionally well for which they were given the Player of the Series award. Two Player of the Series (POTS) awards were awarded at the conclusion of the series, one to each team. Generally, there's only one POTS award that is being given at the end any series. However, there is an old tradition in England where the head coach of the participating nations selects the best player from the other side. India's coach Gautam Gambhir selected Harry Brook for the award. Brook was England's second-highest scorer with 481 runs at an average of 53.44, having two centuries to his name. England's coach Brendon McCullum selected Shubman Gill for his magnificent batting. The Indian captain made 754 runs in five Tests with an average of 75.40, four centuries included. This was the inaugural edition of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, designed to pay tribute to cricket icons James Anderson and Sachin Tendulkar. The BCCI and ECB bid adieu to the earlier names, the Pataudi Trophy (for England tours) and the Anthony de Mello Trophy (for India tours), in order to introduce this new identity. With the series concluding 2-2, the trophy was equally divided between the two sides.
