Former CSK player Ambati Rayudu has advised his team regarding their next match in IPL 2026 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. With the failure of the Chennai Super Kings in two successive matches against Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings, he thinks that CSK must work on their combination problem if they want to return to their form. Rayudu recommended that captain Ruturaj Gaikwad should include their overseas player worth Rs 2 crores in their playing eleven and keep Matt Henry out as they need some better combination for their team. According to Rayudu, there are some very talented players in the team, but they have not yet found a good combination. On ESPNcricinfo, Rayudu said: "If Dewald Brevis comes in, he could add a lot of value. Akeal Hosein should definitely play, along with Jamie Overton and Noor Ahmad. I think those four would make for a very strong combination." His left-arm spin is well suited to trouble both batsmen early in their innings, which can give CSK the edge in the powerplay overs. Rayudu said: "Akeal can be effective against both Virat Kohli and Phil Salt at the start of the innings, while Overton and Noor can control things through the middle overs, alongside someone like Anshul Kamboj or Mukesh Choudhary." He added: "CSK certainly have the resources, they just need to get the combination right. If they do that, they're still very much in with a strong chance." Recently, Hosein played in the SA20 league for Joburg Super Kings and was able to secure seven wickets. It shows that his economy rate of 7.68 is impressive enough to limit the scoring even without taking consistent wickets. Dewald Brevis is in doubt in terms of his physical condition; however, adding him at number four might add value to the middle-order of CSK. In his recent debut, Jamie Overton was able to perform well, making 36 balls for 43, but then he got excluded from the team. In comparison, Noor Ahmad has failed to take any wicket and has been quite expensive. Although Matt Henry is good at picking up wickets, he is giving away a lot of runs per ball. Therefore, following Rayudu's advice may prove to be expensive for CSK if they consider such a move. It remains to be seen whether Gaikwad and the CSK management will listen to Rayudu and implement his advice before their upcoming clash with RCB.
