Team India ODI captain Rohit Sharma confessed being in doubt regarding Suryakumar Yadav's incredible boundary catch in the last over of the 2024 T20 World Cup final against South Africa at Barbados. He further stated that while the umpires were verifying whether the catch was within the rules, he verified from Surya whether he was within the boundary mark. A dramatic last over was when the Proteas required 16 runs from the last over with danger man David Miller on strike. The left-hander pulverized a wide full toss from Hardik Pandya towards the long-off area, where Suryakumar Yadav took the ball bound for a six and ventured inside the ropes to effect an amazing catch. After verifying the catch for legality, David Miller was ruled out as India won the match by seven runs. I was at long off, standing opposite Surya. The ball went there, I am seeing (5 ball 10), I calculated it (assuming it as a six). Then later when I saw it, it is coming in Surya's hand. Surya has taken a blinder." Rohit added: "I was standing with Surya, when they were checking for the catch. I asked Surya, 'Tu hi bata' tell me what is it, you tell me, I am not looking there. Surya said, no, I have caught it. Then I looked at the side, told someone, maybe he has caught it or maybe he has not. But, Later they had a zoom camera, it is clearly visible on that that whenever the feet touches on the rope, it moves, but nothing like this happened. Then we were slightly happy."
