England's present title sponsor, Toyota Motor Corporation, has entered the race of being India's along with Reliance Jio and a Fintech start up after Dream11 reportedly called off the deal. A recent report from NDTC said that BCCI has not officially started the tender, but the two big giants have already shown their interest. The report says, “Toyota Motor Corporation and a Fintech start-up have all shown interest till now. However, the official tendering process has not started yet." Notably, after the Online Gaming Regulation was passed, all forms of real money games have been banned, even from advertising. Both the server and the advertisers will be punished or will be fined a hefty amount. A BCCI source spoke to the Indian Express earlier and said the Dream11 management met the BCCI CEO Hemang Amin in Mumbai and expressed their urge to withdraw the deal. The BCCI official said, "(Representatives of) Dream11 visited the BCCI office and informed CEO Hemang Amin that they won’t be able to continue… As a result, they won’t be the team’s sponsors for the Asia Cup. The BCCI will float a new tender soon." However, the jerseys of the 2025 Asia Cup have been printed, with the Dream11 logo, as per reports. But those jerseys are unlikely to be used for the tournament starting on September 9 in the UAE. They signed the deal in March this year, even though the tenure has not been finalized yet. As per ICC regulations, there are no such regulations for a company to sponsor two national teams at a time. In that case Toyota, if chosen by BCCI too, won't have any issues. Earlier, multiple teams sometimes shared the same sponsor in the same tournament. In the 2024 T20 World Cup, Amul sponsored three teams at once: Sri Lanka, South Africa, and USA teams. Nandini, a Karnataka-based dairy company sponsored Ireland and Scotland. Even though the Asia Cup won't be dealing with England, in the coming tournaments like the T20 World Cup '26 or any bilateral series, Toyota is unlikely to get into legal problems.
