There is a piece of disappointing news coming for England cricket fans as their star pacer Brydon Carse is likely to be ruled out from the remainder of the Champions Trophy 2025 clashes. Brydon Carse is all set to be ruled out from the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 must-win match against Afghanistan due to a recurring blister on his left foot. The match is set to take place at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on February 26. Brydon Carse had previously missed two ODI matches against India in the recent series due to a blister on his left toe, which needed stitches, which were taken out last week which allowed him to participate in their clash against Australia where they suffered a 5-wicket defeat. Carse was conceding with almost an economy rate of 10 runs per over, though he got a wicket but his injury has resurfaced now, posing a threat to his participation in the upcoming matches against Afghanistan and South Africa. Carse missed the training on Monday and Jos Buttler is unlikely to risk one of the main pace bowlers for a clash that they cannot afford to lose. Jamie Overton, another finest allrounder from England, is likely to slide into the playing XI for the match against Afghanistan. Joe Root, England’s prominent middle-order batter and Carse’s fellow teammate has provided an update on his recovery. He mentioned that the team is waiting for a final outcome and no decision has been made till now, they will monitor Carse’s health and then will make a decision. As quoted by BBC, Joe Root said: “We will have to wait and see. There is still a good way out from the game, to find exactly what is up with Carsey. We will see how things pan out over the next few days.” If Brydon Carse gets ruled out from the Champions Trophy 2025 at the last moment, then England is likely to add Rehan Ahmed as another promising option for the clash against South Africa.
