England posted 325 runs at the Kennington Oval, courtesy of their captain Ollie Pope's brilliant 154-run knock. Sri Lanka, while batting tried their best but miserably failed, losing five wickets for 97 runs in just 18 overs. With bad light affecting the game, England bowler Chris Woakes, known for his pace of 150 kmph shocked all as he started bowling spin. Woakes dismissed Dimuth Karunaratne on the second ball of the seventh over, with four balls left in the over and the umpires making signals the light was not good enough. Woakes unleashed his off-breaks giving away six runs off an unusually shortened run-up.
