India Women captain Harmanpreet Kaur stole the show in the third One-Day International match against England Women, scoring her seventh century in the format on Tuesday, July 22 at Chester-le-Street's Riverside Ground. India batted first, Harmanpreet matched the great Mithali Raj's record of second-most centuries for India Women in ODI history. She stands joint-second in the list now with ace batter Smriti Mandhana at number one with 11 centuries. Harmanpreet, also affectionately referred to as Harry by teammates, batted with a staggering strike-rate of 121.42 in her 84-ball innings at the crease, hammering a remarkable 102 runs. Her innings was the brains behind the visiting team registering a commanding total of 318-5 at the end of 50 overs in the series finale. She began gradually, but did not miss a single lose delivery, amassing 14 boundaries in her innings. The right-hand batter also crossed past the 4000-run barrier in the 50-over internationals, which arrived in her 129th innings. The Punjab-born batter has also 19 half-centuries in the format and is among the most consistent middle-order batters for the Women in Blue over the years. Her 102 was also the third century for the senior pro versus England Women the sole opposition against whom she has scored hundreds more than once. Jemimah also played a commanding half-century and provided the ideal support to her skipper. The Mumbai-born, who scored 50 in her 50th ODI, came for an interview during the break and was thrilled to have been able to make a contribution in a fantastic partnership, which was bereft of calculative approach. We decided, up to the 40th [over], we go 5-6 runs and over, then anything in our area we go for it,”
