England (ENG) have released their playing XI for the second ODI of the series against the West Indies (WI) at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. Having taken a 1-0 lead in the series after routing the visiting team by 238 runs in the first ODI at Edgbaston, the home team has changed one player because of an injury to Jamie Overton and Matthew Potts is replacement for the injured allrounder. The pacer from his right hand broke the little finger of his right hand and has been excluded from the rest of the series. According to the ECB's release, Overton will be rehabilitated for his rapid recovery. Matthew Potts has taken his place in the XI for the second ODI. Otherwise, England will play with the same squad as in the first ODI. England produced a commanding performance both with the bat and the ball in the opening ODI at home. The host team scored 400/8 batting first. The batters' pick of the day was Jacob Bethell, who scored 82 (53). All England's top seven batters contributed runs. Ben Duckett, Jamie Smith, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler, and Will Jacks played well with the bat. "New England Men's white-ball captain Harry Brook has been forced into one change after Jamie Overton was ruled out of the remainder of the series with a broken right little finger. Matthew Potts has been selected to come in as his replacement and is set to make his 10th ODI appearance for England," the ECB's statement read as per their press release.
