This win levelled the five-match series between the two nations 2-2, completing a stunning comeback on the English soil. The Indian side, led by captain Shubman Gill, had a triumphant victory parade around the pitch, enjoying the cheers from the crowd. Players posed for pictures, waved at the masses, and basked in the glory of their hard-fought victory after a grueling duel. The left-handed batsman ended the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy as the fourth-highest run-getter, scoring 516 runs with a commendable average of 86 in 10 innings against England. In addition to his batting performances, Jadeja also picked up seven wickets, one four-wicket haul included, with the ball. His top batting scores comprised one century and five half-centuries. Moreover, their six-run win in the last Test was the closest-ever Test victory by runs in the nation's cricket history. After the exciting series, the Indian Test team will get a brief respite before continuing their home season. India will host four Test matches later this year, two each against West Indies and South Africa. The series against West Indies will be held from October 2 to 14 in Ahmedabad and Delhi, while the South Africa series will take place from November 14 to 26 in Kolkata and Guwahati. In advance of 2026, India are scheduled to tour Sri Lanka and New Zealand for two Tests apiece. In addition, India are to host Afghanistan in a one-off Test, which will not be included in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27. India's ongoing WTC cycle will be completed with a five-Test home series against Australia, beginning in January 2027.
