Harry Brook created history on the fifth and final ODI in England against Australia match at the Country Ground in Bristol on Sunday (September 29). He broke a five-year-old record set by Virat Kohli as England tried to win the series. Captaining England for the first time internationally, Brook turned the series around after they went 2-0 down in the series. The 25-year-old was crucial in England's revival, winning both the third and fourth game. Brook scored his maiden ODI century in the third match as he scored an unbeaten 110* from 94 balls, helping England won by 46 runs (DLS method). In the fourth ODI, England thus dominated and won by 186 runs as the match was reduced to 39 overs. In that match, he simply slammed his way to 87 from 58 balls. Harry Brook Sets a New Record Brook kept up his great batting form in the final match, giving England an early advantage after Steve Smith chose to bowl first. The temporary England captain smashed 72 runs off 57 balls, hitting three boundaries and seven sixes. Brook and Ben Duckett put a good partnership for the fourth wicket while building a massive 132-runs. Duckett hit his second ODI century, scoring 107 off 91 balls. He broke Virat Kohli's record of the most runs as a captain against Australia in a bilateral ODI series. In 2019, Kohli had made 310 runs in a home series.
