The atmosphere around Ekana Cricket Stadium is tense but organized. As Lucknow Super Giants prepare to face Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 19, the city’s law enforcement has swung into action. Roads, routes, and parking areas are all under strict watch. Lucknow Police have rolled out an extensive security and traffic plan to avoid chaos and ensure smooth movement. From 2 PM till midnight, all roads leading to the stadium will see diversions and barricades. By 3 PM, the entry of heavy and commercial vehicles around Shaheed Path and key approach roads like Sultanpur, Rae Bareli, Kanpur, and Ayodhya will be completely restricted. Diversion points have been fixed at areas like Kamta Tiraha, Lekhraj, Telibagh, and Barabirwa. Unauthorized vehicles will be stopped or rerouted. Shaheed Path, a crucial connector, will remain partially closed from 2 PM to 9 PM. Traffic through Sultanpur Road will be guided away at Amul Tiraha, diverting commuters toward Lulu Mall. Police HQ access from Ekana Tiraha is blocked. U-turns at Ahmamau are banned. Only vehicles following alternate paths through Chhakbag Chauraha and Kisanpath will reach the venue. After the second innings begins, the gates will shut. Exit once, and you’re out—no re-entry allowed. Private cars with passes can park near the stadium via Ahmamau or Phoenix Palassio Mall. Others must stop near the mall stretch. Two-wheelers will be directed to the rear lanes. VIP vans and OB vehicles have fixed exit routes through Lulu Mall or PPN Chowki. Any vehicle parked illegally near the stadium will be towed. Ola, Uber, and other app-based cabs cannot reach the venue. Drop-off zones are marked far from Shaheed Path. Taxis from the airport must drop passengers at barricade points. E-rickshaws and autos also face restrictions. They must drop passengers at least 500 meters away and take designated return paths.
