England's Cricket Regulator has suspended cricket agent Moghees Ahmed for five years from all cricket activity within the ECB's jurisdiction. Ahmed, who owns the International Cricketers Association and represents a number of high-profile Pakistan players, was guilty of making a corrupt approach to a county head coach. The prohibition, which commenced on 26 March 2025, involves a minimum suspension of 30 months to be served in entirety. The remaining 30 months are suspended subject to Ahmed not further offending and attending an anti-corruption educational programme. Details of the Case In March, the Cricket Regulator decided that Ahmed made a offer to a county coach. The offer was that the coach would get a portion of Ahmed's commission on the basis of recommending players he represents in franchise leagues. The coach made the approach on the same day and informed the authorities that it was indeed made. A tribunal later affirmed the offer was made. Ahmed was guilty of four violations of the ECB's anti-corruption code, and his agent registration was suspended. This lengthy ban rightly reflects the seriousness of the conspiracy Ahmed sought to embark upon." Chris further added: "Offering, seeking or taking illicit financial inducements for selection is never acceptable and strikes at the heart of the integrity of our sport. They have also greatly assisted the investigation and tribunal process and are commended for their conduct.” In an interaction with ESPNcricinfo, Ahmed informed that he "categorically denies all allegations" and "rejects the decisions of the ECB tribunal." He also added that he is "considering legal options to challenge the decision.
