In the Duleep Trophy 2024, captain of India C, Ruturaj Gaikwad had to make his way out of the ground on day one of their second match against India B in Anantapur on Thursday. So far, we hardly know anything about his injury. The left-handed batsman, Gaikwad came to bat along with Sai Sudharsan as the opponent team's captain Abhimanyu Easwaran opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Now India C is really hoping that Ruturaj Gaikwad's injury is not that serious, as they desperately require his leadership and a healthy dose of batting. India C and India B are facing off in the second match of the Duleep Trophy 2024. Both teams had won their opening encounters. Ishan Kishan, Mayank Markande, and Sandeep Warrier are all part of the India C squad for the encounter. They come in place of Aryan Juyal, Hrithik Shokeen, and Himanshu Chauhan. In the last game in Anantapur, Gaikwad’s team won a close match against India D. While chasing 236 runs, Gaikwad helped a lot by scoring 46 runs off 48 balls quickly for India C. At the age of 27, he has been an important cog in the lineup of the Chennai Super Kings team in the IPL and even took over as the captain of the franchise from the legend MS Dhoni. He has also represented the national team with 6 ODIs and 23 T20Is. CSK will be equally hoping that their captain and leading batsman does not sit out for long as they need to plan ahead of the mega auction for IPL 2025.
