The Board of Cricket Control in India has finally confirmed that they have chatted with their broadcasters and the final match of the 2025 Duleep Trophy will be aired live for the fans. Earlier, BCCI has restricted access of the fans on the field as the tournament was being conducted in the residential premises of Bengaluru's Centre of Excellence. Moreover, fans were annoyed as BCCI was not live telecasting the match anywhere. Recently, BCCI's interim president, Devajit Saikia, has informed the Times of India that BCCI has a 100-day contract with their broadcasters and the match will be aired live. He said, "There will be a live telecast of the final of the Duleep Trophy. We have an agreement with our broadcaster to ensure live telecast of 100 days of domestic cricket, which means that all our domestic tournaments are covered live. The BCCI gives utmost importance to domestic cricket, which is why you will see that almost all the India players are in action in these matches." BCCI has made it mandatory for centrally contracted players to play the domestic tournaments. States have even made it compulsory for players to play the state leagues. However, BCCI not live telecasting the Duleep Trophy has created a massive outrage. There were claims that fans need to watch the state prodigies too. The two quarterfinal matches—North Zone against East and Central Zone against Northeast—wasn't aired live. Notably the semifinals—North vs South zone and Central vs West zone will commence on September 4, at the CEG ground, and won't be aired either. The final match of the tournament will be played between September 11 and 15. Talking about the Duleep Trophy tournament thus far, centuries from Yash Dhull and Ankit Kumar helped North Zone storm into the semifinal. In the other match, a sensational debut by Danish Malewar and stunning support from Rajat Patidar and Yash Rathod saw Central Zone acquire the other semifinal spot.
