On Monday, 9th September, the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India announced the squads for the second round of the Duleep Trophy 2024. The next stage of the Indian domestic competition is set to begin from 12th September with matches scheduled to take place in Ananthpur. Mayank Agarwal has been made captain of the India A team in the second round as Shubman Gill was summoned for India's first Test against Bangladesh, starting on September 19. Other players too, from the first-round team of India A, like KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Akash Deep-have found selection into the national team for the upcoming test. Now, these players will be replaced by Akshay Narang, SK Rasheed, and Shams Mulani. Prasidh Krishna, who missed the first round due to injury, remains in the team Meanwhile, Vidwath Kaverappa, Kumar Kushagra, and Shaswat Rawat have been released from the squad as well. Coached by Sunil Joshi, the team will face India D next, after losing their first match to India B at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. In the second round of Duleep Trophy 2024, Abhimanyu Easwaran will continue to lead India B. With Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant, and Yash Dayal joining the Indian team for the Bangladesh Tests, Rinku Singh, Suyash Prabhudessai, and Himanshu Mantri have been added to the squad. Performing under pressure, they played some brilliant cricket and won the match, thus acquiring the 6 important points. Under Abhimanyu Easwaran, they are hoping to keep up the good form even when a few of the key players from India are not around. No changes are expected in the India C squad. Ruturaj Gaikwad will still captain the side. Suryakumar Yadav, who did not play in the opening round due to injury, may come back for the second round. For the second round of the Duleep Trophy 2024, India D will have two changes. Nishant Sindhu will take Axar Patel's place, while Vidwath Kaverappa will replace Tushar Deshpande, who won't be playing due to injury. Shreyas Iyer will remain the skipper despite their loss in the first game.
