The third ODI between India and Afghanistan in Chennai had some accidental glimpses of the FIFA World Cup happening on the other side of the globe. In the third over, attempting to catch a ball off Rohit Sharma, the Afghan keeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz not only kicked the ball accidentally but also gave free runs to Rohit. It happened in the third ball of the third over when Fareed Ahmad bowled a short ball to Rohit. He got a top edge while trying to aerial. The ball went over the keeper's head. Gurbaz ran down the entire patch but could not stop himself as the ball bounced off his knees to the boundary. While there was a moment of comic relief, Gurbaz was seen rubbing his knee in pain. However, he asked the physio to go back, and the match commenced soon after that.
