Whenever Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) meet, the fans always anticipate a high-voltage encounter. Saturday evening at the Chinnaswamy Stadium was no exception. The encounter had it all including giant sixes, a nail-biting finish, and unfortunately, a serious brawl off the field that overshadowed the game itself. Fight Turns Ugly in Chinnaswamy's Diamond VIP Box Though action on the pitch made the crowds sit up, the VIP box had its share of drama as well. Two groups clashed within a box designated for VIPs and senior government officials. The two groups comprised a family group from a senior IPS officer's and a group consisting of Indian Income Tax (IT) officers. The Diamond Box is famous for accommodating top brass and VIPs. As the game progressed towards its last few overs, the altercation between the two groups escalated. What had started as a disagreement over seats soon turned into a serious issue. Or how RCB narrowly won by two runs in a match that came down to the wire as CSK nearly chased 219. But all that was put aside by what occurred in the stands. Police are currently investigating the incident. Statements from both parties are being recorded, and investigations are still underway. No names from the accused party have been released as yet.
