MS Dhoni had some key advice for young players following Chennai Super Kings’ 6-wicket loss to Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday. While reflecting on the game, the CSK captain highlighted the need for consistency and game awareness amid rising expectations in T20 cricket. Batting first, CSK posted 187/8 in 20 overs with explosive contributions from Ayush Mhatre (43 off 20) and Dewald Brevis (42 off 25), but they kept losing wickets regularly. RR chased down the target with 17 balls to spare, thanks to Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s 57 and quickfire cameos from others. Kamboj is good, he gets a lot of movement, his balls hit you harder than what you might expect, he's good ... he's done well, bowling three overs in the powerplay is tough," he said. He also added that the young players must try for consistency and advised them not to take pressure. "They have to try for the consistency, but if you are looking for 200-plus strike rate then consistency is hard to get .... they have the ability to hit sixes at any stage ... don't take pressure, when the expectations rise ... learn from senior players and coaching staff .. it's about reading the game ... this would be my advice to all the youngsters who have done well.” Brevis shines, but CSK fall short again Despite the loss, CSK showed moments of promise, especially through the power-packed knocks from Brevis and Mhatre. However, none of the batters could anchor the innings after the early momentum, leading to a subpar finish. But the rest of the CSK attack couldn’t contain the Royals, as Suryavanshi, Jaiswal, and Jurel took the game away with smart counter-attacking cricket. With this defeat, CSK are likely to finish in the 10th spot for the first time in 18 editions. They have currently won three matches and have lost ten out of their 13 appearances.
