Former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin called out fake quotes claimed to be his on the India vs. Pakistan match at the Asia Cup. Notably, India and Pakistan have been placed in the same group (Group A) and that has created massive murmurs in the cricketing fraternity. This happened right after the Indian players pulled themselves out from the match against Pakistan in the Indian Champions Match vs. Pakistan Champions match in the World Championship of Legends 2025 scheduled at Edgbaston. Shikhar Dhawan was the player who called publicly and had repeatedly said that his stance won't change if both qualify for the semis. In such a situation, several players had their words on the situation. While some advocated that sports should not be dragged into political tensions, some said that if both teams can't play a bilateral series, why play tournaments! Dragging in the situation, a quote has been surfacing on the internet where Ashwin is said to slam BCCI for its dubiousness towards BCCI. The quote said, "Small money is involved so World Championship of Legends got cancelled, but India is still playing against Pakistan in the Asia Cup and BCCI hasn't cancelled it—because the amount of money decides the level of patriotism."
