Punjab Kings have smashed a total of 21 sixes against Lucknow Super Giants, with Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly particularly going gaga against the bowlers. It was mostly for the duo, with Punjab putting 254 runs on the board. And later, the bowling from the side restricted LSG to 200 runs, winning the game by 54 runs. Unfortunately, in the reign of boundaries, Shreyas Iyer, the captain of PBKS, who was enjoying top form this season as well, got dismissed cheaply for just 5 runs. After the emphatic win, Iyer walked down to the post-match presentation, where he sheepishly revealed that the team has decided on a war of hitting sies—the one with the most will get his bat. And he found it absolute rubbish, but acceptable as long as his boys perform. Iyer appreciated his Arya's and Connolly's effort with the bat and said, "Exceptional partnership; some shots were jaw-dropping. Hitting fast bowlers off the back foot straight. Composure in the middle overs was sensational. Was talking with Cooper and Arya and said, "Let's compete on the side for the most number of sixes." They're up for it. The prize is my bat. It doesn't make sense, but as long as we're all performing, I'm happy." Shreyas Iyer is often known for giving freehand to his players. And for Punjab, the "mantra" is the same. He sounded like a hardcore believer of "when you let players be, I think they just deliver," with the head coach Ricky Ponting doing his part motivating the squad. He focuses on his ability to time the ball. Priyansh, while receiving the award, said, "I don't practice six-hitting; I try to time the ball as well as possible. Anand Sir and Birla Sir, our trainers send us schedules, and I follow them. That helps me keep fit. I don't do too much with in the middle, as that keeps my mind free." Speaking about his favorite shot of the night, he said, "I slashed one over point, that's my favourite shot."
