As the dates for the highly anticipated Hong Kong Sixes 2025 draw near, the excitement has been building up crazily. Adding to the list, the Indian team at the Hong Kong Sixes will see a new captain this year. Former India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Dinesh Karthik is all set to take the leadership duties by replacing Robin Uthappa, who led the side in the 2024 edition. They took to their ‘X’ handle to welcome Dinesh Karthik as the Indian skipper for the upcoming edition. The tournament is scheduled to kick off on November 7. One of the other important highlights will be the addition of Ravichandran Ashwin to the tournament. These are two confirmed participants for the teams so far, and the rest of the team is yet to be announced. He also said that he will try his best to bring joy to all the fans. As quoted by NDTVSports, Karthik said: “It is an absolute honour leading Team India at the Hong Kong Sixes, a tournament with such rich history and global recognition. I look forward to leading a group of players who have such incredible records to their credit, and together we will aim to bring joy to the fans and play cricket that is both fearless and entertaining.” It is worth mentioning that Dinesh Karthik has already captained the Indian side in the Hong Kong Sixes in the 2011/12 season. He is all set to return to the league after 14 years. He had scored 92 runs in 4 matches, with 32 runs being his highest score in the tournament.
