Delhi Capitals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by one wicket in a thrilling encounter on Monday. LSG posted 209 runs in their 20 overs and were in a commanding position at the start of the second innings, reducing DC to 7/3. However, a crucial 55-run partnership between Vipraj Nigam and Ashutosh Sharma shifted the momentum, leading DC to victory in the final over. Speaking to JioHotstar after the loss, Rishabh Pant praised his team's batting performance and said that he was satisfied with the total they put on the board. "I think the runs were enough on the board. The batters batted really well. We may have lost momentum in the middle, but I think that was a pretty good score on this wicket," he said. LSG assistant coach Klusener disagrees with Pant LSG's assistant coach Lance Klusener has a different view than Rishabh Pant on the game. The former South African cricketer felt that the team was 20 to 30 runs short. "If I have to put a finger on it, I would like to say we probably left 20 or 30 runs out there with the bat. That was probably why we ended up being under pressure with the ball," Klusener remarked. "I thought they [DC] finished well with the bat, but the reason why we're in that position is because we didn't score enough runs, which we should have. I thought when the bowlers got it right, there was a little bit of spin, so I thought it was a very good wicket. There was a little bit in there for everybody", he said. Notably, LSG has been grappling with injuries, losing four key bowlers. Mohsin Khan has been replaced by Shardul Thakur, while the team is hopeful for the return of Mayank Yadav, Akash Deep, and Avesh Khan. Addressing the current challenges, Klusener admitted that LSG's bowling options are limited. "At the moment, we don't have a lot of reserves with the ball, so we're going to have to mix and match until we start getting players back," he said. Lucknow Super Giants will return to action on March 27, facing Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
