Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana was supposed to tie the knot with filmmaker-singer Palaash Muchhal in Sangli on November 23, in the presence of their close-knit family and friends. But things took an unexpected turn and resulted in the wedding getting postponed. Palaash's sister, singer Palak Muchhal, confirmed the news through her Instagram story on November 24. Family Health Issues Cause Delay This decision came after reports stated that Smriti's father, Shrinivas Mandhana, was admitted to the hospital on the morning of her wedding. As per reports, he fell sick during his breakfast and was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital. Later, her manager confirmed the development and said Smriti decided to postpone the wedding until her father recovers. There were also reports soon after that Palaash was admitted to a hospital because of some health issue. He was discharged later, but the situation added to tension between the two families. A woman, Mary D'Costa, shared screenshots of her chat with Palaash on Instagram. The chat, which later went viral on all social media platforms, including Reddit, showed Palaash being flirtatious with her, inviting her to join him for a swim, a spa session, and even a late-night visit to Versova beach. Palaash had also dodged the question when the woman asked him if he really loved Smriti. The authenticity of these screenshots could not be verified by CricketGully. The viral posts received a mixed reaction online. Many users criticised Palaash, while some asked people to give the families privacy during a difficult time. Smriti Deletes Wedding Posts Amidst all this, Smriti Mandhana deleted her proposal video and all her wedding-related posts from all her social media handles, further fueling the ongoing speculation concerning the future plans of the couple. As of now, the marriage stands postponed, and both families are expected to take a decision only after the health concerns settle down.
