Paevez Rasool, a former IPL player who has earlier played in the Indian Premier League, feels that the Dhaka Premier League is tougher given the contract policies of both tournaments. Rasool have played five years in Bangladesh and have expressed the uncertainity of a player in the league. The Dhaka Premier League happens at the same time as the Indian Premier League, and when a player stays unsold in the IPL, they shift to the DPL. Unlike IPL, it is played in the 50-over format. Speaking about the troubles in the Dhaka League, Rasool said that the players have a 2-match contract and will be benched if they can't perform. He said on Off Script by WJ, "I played five years in Bangladesh, Dhaka League. I rate Dhaka league tougher than IPL. I played IPL also. I played Dhaka League also. Tougher why I told you because in IPL you get a contract, right. You get selected and then whether you play or not, you get a contract. So it depends on the team, if you are doing good, if you are not doing good in 1 or 2 matches, then you get dropped and stay with the team. But when you play in Dhaka League, altogether, there is a lot of pressure. Why? Because they are giving you a two-match contract only." He concluded, "If you do well in two matches, then you go on. If you fail, you get your return ticket after the third match. I won’t name anyone, but there have been some big players who played and were sent back after 2-3 matches." In 2014, Rasool made history by becoming the first player from Jammu and Kashmir to represent India. He played one ODI and one T20I for the national team. His ODI debut came against Bangladesh in June 2014. Rasool earned his first T20I cap in January 2017 during a match against England in Kanpur.
