The last Tata Indian Premier League saw a struggling Devdutt Paddikal, scoring just 38 runs for the Lucknow Supergiants, with his strike rate (71.69) showing the real difficulty. LSG quite naturally has moved on without Paddikal. Traditionally an explosive opening batter, Paddikal may give good bidding wars during the auction due to his shot selection abilities. Paddikal, who opened for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in both the 2020 and 2021 seasons, had his total runs above 400 in both (473 and 411). In 2021, he scored his first and only century (101*) having his captain Virat Kohli by his side. Paddikal then moved to the Rajasthan Royals as someone who would get hold in the middle and scored 837 runs in both seasons, with his average too dropping significantly. His tenure with LSG has been his worst, with his average crossing 5. Despite his last campaign, Paddikal can't be someone to get ignored, and here are three teams that may fight for him.
