The Pakistan team now has kicked off their ODI series against South Africa by winning the series with two big victories against the Proteas. Still, this has not stopped the rumors about Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which is their governing body, and the problems that the management of the team is undergoing. The (PCB) had faced massive criticism after the resignation of top coaches Jason Gillespie and Gary Kirsten. This led Pakistan to appoint former Pakistan cricketer Aaqib Javed as the Head coach of the national team. Gillespie had stated his reason that the board had marginalized his role as a coach and resigned just eight months into his two-year contract with the team. The statement made by PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi on the responsibility of the team management and selectors has also caused a bit of drama as well. Here is what Naqvi told in an interaction with Geo TV “The head coach's role is to coach the team, while the selection committee is supposed to select players," Also Read | 'Shane Warne doesn't come along every day,'- Allan Border Slams Indian Selectors for Leaving Wrist Spinners Before joining as head coaches of the Pakistan team, Jason Gillespie and Gary Kirsten had vast experience and success as coaches. Gary Kirsten is one of the best coaches in international cricket. He played an important role in India's ODI World Cup win in 2011. He further coached South Africa between 2011 and 2013, and under him, they became number one in Test rankings. Except for international cricket, Kirsten has also coached in IPL for teams like RCB and GT.
