The England wicketkeeper Ben Duckett, who has recently been acquired by the Delhi Capitals in the 2026 IPL, has been under scrutiny after a viral video showing him slurring on the streets of Australia. The video has gone viral after the England Cricket Team was reportedly partying at Noosa, a rich resort in Queensland, after the second Test defeat. In the viral video, Duckett was seen being approached by a passer-by, who asked Duckett for a phone to book an Uber to return. Duckett, visibly unbalanced and reportedly drunk, when the bystander asked Duckett's phone to book a cab, The lady with them asked if Duckett remembered his staying; the keeper said he didn't, after which the bystander asked him to book the Uber to the nets at least. And they will further look into the fact that when a player crosses the line, even though players are under constant scrutiny, sometimes they behave otherwise. The ECB wrote, “We are aware of content circulating on social media. We have high expectations for behaviour, accepting that players are often under intense levels of scrutiny, with established processes that we follow when conduct falls below expectations. We also support players that need assistance. We will not comment further at this stage while we establish the facts." Notably, the team has had a pre-planned "break," which they decided to spend at Noosa. well, prior to the video, the team manager, Rob Key, said on a video that the team was modest at the hotel.
