The Delhi Capitals player was practicing in the batting nets while KKR head coach Abhishek Nayar supervised his training session. The training photos spread quickly on social media platforms and fans started to notice them. Many fans found it strange when they saw a Delhi Capitals player training at another IPL team's camp before the tournament began. The IPL season will begin on March 28 with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in Bengaluru. KKR will start the match against Mumbai Indians on March 29. Nayar was seen standing behind the nets and guiding Rahul through his practice session. Another member of the KKR team, the young wicketkeeper Angkrish Raghuvanshi, was also seen during the practice session. The photographs were uploaded to the internet, and the fans started discussing them. The fans were curious to know why Nayar was helping Rahul before the IPL season began. Nayar had been Rahul’s trainer when he was going through a tough time in his life. Through his association with Rahul, he was able to regain his performance. Rahul was able to regain his form in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Test series that took place last year. Nayar had helped Rahul regain his confidence and return to his normal self. Rahul is seen practicing with Nayar because of their connection. Nayar takes charge as KKR head coach Abhishek Nayar has taken on expanded responsibilities at Kolkata Knight Riders before IPL 2026. He became the team's head coach following Chandrakant Pandit's departure from the franchise after IPL 2025. Nayar has been connected with KKR for several years. He served the organization in multiple capacities including assistant coach and mentor and talent scout. KKR management believes his close bond with players and his understanding of the team culture make him the right person to guide the side in the coming seasons. The franchise finished eighth in IPL 2025 and will now hope to perform better in the upcoming season. KKR sign Blessing Muzarabani as replacement Kolkata Knight Riders signed Blessing Muzarabani to take Mustafizur Rahman's spot on the team. KKR acquired Mustafizur from KKR for ₹9.2 crore but he withdrew from the tournament because of India-Bangladesh cricket restrictions. Muzarabani impressed recently in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, where he picked up 13 wickets in six matches. The Zimbabwe fast bowler who signed with KKR will leave the Pakistan Super League to join KKR on March 17. The IPL will provide him with his first real opportunity to play although he served as a temporary replacement for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2025.
