Indian hopes are technically shattered with Yashasvi Jaiswal's departure. The lone warrior of the Indian batting in the last inning, Yashasvi Jaiswal, left scoring 84, suffering a caught-behind off Pat Cummins. A short of length, down the leg delivery that bounced to the batter went to the keeper, slightly kissing the bat. Initially the umpire declared him not-out but the convinced Australian captain, Pat Cummins, went for a review that showed a deflection off the bat. Even though there was no spike visible in the snickometer, the third umpire came to a brave conclusion based solely on the visual evidence of the trajectory of the ball. Jaiswal, however, was convinced that the ball did not make any contact and had a chat with the on-field umpires before leaving. "I can see the ball has made contact with the gloves. Joel, you need to change your decision."And with that, Jaiswal is out! #AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/biOQP4ZeDB — 7Cricket (@7Cricket) December 30, 2024 Read also: Mitchell Starc's Bail-Flipping Antics Spark Day 5 Drama at MCG India struggles and a defeat is nearing at Melbourne Forget about the World Test Championship; India may not even win the BGT and may have to settle with a frustrating draw.
