Deepti Sharma, the reliable all-rounder of India Women cricket team, has been appointed as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Uttar Pradesh. The cricketer hailing from Agra has been honored with this position following her notable contributions to Indian cricket. Since her childhood days, she used to dream of wearing the uniform of Police and serve the nation. Her dream came true on 27th January 2025 when she wore the uniform of DSP in Moradabad. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, himself handed her an appointment letter during a ceremony the previous year, where she appeared with her father Bhagwan Sharma, and brothers Sumit and Prashant Sharma. She also received a cash prize of INR 3 crore from the government of Uttar Pradesh. On her instagram post, Deepti wrote: "I'm overwhelmed with gratitude as I achieve this milestone! I'd like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my family, whose unwavering support and blessings have been my driving force. With 1086 runs and 138 wickets in T20Is, she stands sixth in the list of highest run-scorers and first in the list of wicket-takers for India. She was a part of the Indian team when India finished as a runner-up in the 2017 ODI World Cup, 2022 T20 World Cup and 2022 Commonwealth Games, 2018 and 2024 Asia Cup. She also represented India in their tournament winning campaigns at the 2022's Asian Games (Gold) and Asia Cup of 2022.
