Delhi and District Cricket Association has been planning every step carefully while ensuring maximum tight security at this much-awaited return of Virat Kohli in Ranji Trophy. Further, to address the vast turn-out to cheer Kohli for his return to action, DDCA would also consult Delhi police to meet the mass handling of that occasion. Kohli has been included in the Delhi team for its match against Railways in Ranji Trophy which will begin from January 30. He is supposed to join on Tuesday and was expected to fetch a lot of crowd for himself in his native city. It is his first time back in Ranji Trophy after 2012 when he played the last against Uttar Pradesh at Ghaziabad. A special moment it will be, Kohli playing back at his own Arun Jaitley Stadium where it all began. Through the years, he has evolved into cricket's biggest stars with a mammoth fan base and huge brand value. Ashok Sharma, the DDCA secretary, told PTI: “Obviously, it is a great experience for our junior players as they will get to share the dressing room with Virat. If you look at our team, only Navdeep Saini has played alongside Virat in the IPL and for India. In fact, none of the players in the team have played with Virat in the Ranji Trophy. They can learn a lot by watching him." He added: “We know Virat’s presence raises the profile of the match. Normally, we have 10 to 12 private security personnel for a regular Ranji match, but we will definitely increase security so that Virat can train without any disturbance. We have also informed the Delhi Police about the match." Normally, only one stand is open for spectators, and entry to Ranji Trophy matches is free. However, for this match, DDCA has estimated a big crowd and has decided to open three stands at the Ambedkar Stadium End for accommodating the crowd. Sharma said: “Gate Nos. 7, 15, and 16 will be open to the public. We will arrange for drinking water, and the toilets will be clean and hygienic. Come and enjoy the match. Of course, there will be security checks before allowing the public to enter," Sharma added." With Kohli returning, there is much excitement, and DDCA is not leaving any stone unturned in making the day smooth and safe for the people coming to witness the match.
