Darwish Rasooli has been named the captain of Afghanistan A for the upcoming ACC Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025. He also led the team in the previous tournament. This year, the competition is set to take place in Doha from November 14 to November 23. The squad consists of 15 players, with 10 returning from last year's tournament. Sediqullah Atal, AM Ghazanfar, and Qais Ahmad, who were part of the previous lineup, are back again this time. Rasooli successfully guided Afghanistan A to victory in the Rising Stars Asia Cup last year. Additionally, three reserve players have been selected by the ACB. Atal made a significant contribution by scoring a run-a-ball 55 against Sri Lanka A, helping Afghanistan A clinch the final. He’s also a regular member in Afghanistan's senior white-ball team, with 22 T20Is, 12 ODIs, and one Test under his belt. Ghazanfar has been a part of Afghanistan's squad across all formats since his international debut in 2024, while Qais last represented the national team in 2024. Their campaign kicks off on November 15 (Saturday) against Sri Lanka A, followed by matches against Bangladesh A on November 17 (Monday) and Hong Kong on November 19 (Wednesday). Under Darwish Rasooli’s leadership, Afghanistan A aims to defend their Rising Stars Asia Cup title once again.
