Chennai Super Kings (CSK) strengthened their squad during the IPL 2025 Mega Auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. On Day 1 of the auction, which took place on Sunday, November 24, CSK started its shopping by bringing back New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Devon Conway for INR 6.25 crore. He joined the list of retained players who include MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, and Matheesha Pathirana. CSK added to their batting with the addition of two aggressive players in the form of Rachin Ravindra for INR 4 crore and Rahul Tripathi for INR 3.40 crore. But the most thrilling news for CSK on Day 1 was the comeback of veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who joined the team after 9 years, for INR 9.75 crore. The highest CSK bid on Day 1 came for Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad, for whom they shelled out an astonishing INR 10 crore. They also snapped up left-arm seamer Khaleel Ahmed for INR 4.80 crore, which most regarded as a steal. On the second day, CSK further strengthened their team, recalling England all-rounder Sam Curran for INR 2.40 crore. The talented Haryana pacer Anshul Kamboj triggered a bidding war before CSK acquired him for INR 3.40 crore. The signing of Deepak Hooda, a spin-bowling all-rounder with an experience of 118 IPL games, was one of the finest move. He came in at INR 1.70 crores.
