With the preparations set for IPL 2025, teams have only two days left to file the retention lists before the last week of November for the mega-auction. Quite a few stars will go under the hammer and going by a report from Times of India, it seems that multiple teams have their eyes on all-rounder Washington Sundar from Sunrisers Hyderabad, who was also in good form in the second test against New Zealand. CSK, GT, and MI Show Interest in Sundar The report revealed that Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Mumbai Indians are the teams keenly interested in Sundar. Sundar was included in the Indian team for the second Test of New Zealand that was played in Pune. Still, even though this was an embarrassing loss for Team India, which saw the Rohit Sharma-led team face its first Test series defeat on its home soil after almost 12 years, Sundar has done reasonably well for himself. Sundar grabbed seven wickets in the first innings and four wickets in the second one. At the moment, at least three teams - Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings - have shown a huge interest in him. While he will not be in the Sunrisers Hyderabad's retention list, SRH could retain Sundar in the IPL auction by using the RTM (Right to Match) card." According to reports, SRH would look to retain on to Travis Head, Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma, and Heinrich Klaasen as their main pick-up. However, the facts are that Sundar doesn't have an exceptional IPL career and has been acquired for ₹8.75 crores in the auction of IPL 2022. Sundar had played only 18 games over the last three seasons, owing to injuries, and it is yet to be seen if SRH would use the Right to Match (RTM) card for Sundar in order to block other teams signing him.
