Jasprit Bumrah claimed his maiden five-for at the legendary Lord's Cricket Ground in London on Friday, July 11, on Day 2 of the third Test between India and England. Bumrah, who took a five-fer in the first innings of the opening Test against England at Headingley, Leeds, was given a break in the second Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham. But he has asserted himself at the Home of Cricket by bowling superbly on a wicket that hasn't been as flat as the previous two Tests, but definitely not a fast bowler's paradise that many expected ahead of the encounter. On Day 1, Bumrah had sent the dangerous Harry Brook packing with a stunning delivery. But he breathed fire during the morning session on Day 2, sending Ben Stokes, Joe Root, and Chris Woakes packing in the course of seven balls. The Gujarat seamer was on hat-trick in the fifth over of the day after getting centurion Root and all-rounder Woakes bowled off two consecutive deliveries. But Brydon Carse successfully defended the hat-trick ball. England went down from 260/4 to 271/7 following Bumrah's incredible spell with the second new ball. Carse, though, revived England with a counterattacking 84-run stand with Jamie Smith to get them back into the game. Mohammed Siraj ended the important stand, removing Smith for 51. A few overs down the line, Bumrah disposed of Jofra Archer, who fell to become his fifth victim of the innings. Bumrah earned his name on the elite honours board at Lord's after claiming a well-deserved five-for. The fans haven't stopped praising the right-arm pacer for his heroics after he executed the incredible feat at the hallowed ground. His outstanding show ensured that India bowled England for a total less than 400. The Three Lions were dismissed when they were on 387 runs. Bumrah ended up with the figures of 5/74 in 27 overs.
