The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed a one-year ban on South African fast bowler Corbin Bosch for opting out of Pakistan Super League (PSL) to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Bosch, who had been picked by Peshawar Zalmi in January’s draft for the 2025 PSL season, opted to sign with Mumbai Indians as a replacement player. In March, he replaced fellow South African Lizaad Williams, who was ruled out due to injury. However, when Bosch opted out of the tournament, PCB had to take action. In a statement, the PCB has confirmed the suspension of the South African cricketer. They also stated that Bosch would serve a one-year ban and will not be eligible for selection in the following year's Pakistan Super League. When Bosch was announced as the replacement player in the IPL, The PCB had previously served Bosch with a legal notice, arguing that his withdrawal after being drafted constituted a breach of the player agreement. Bosch responds to PSL withdrawal Bosch had also reacted to PCB's notice, saying that he regrets his decision. “I deeply regret my decision … and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi and the wider cricket community. I fully understand the disappointment caused by my actions ... but I am committed to learning from this experience and hope to return to the PSL in the future with renewed dedication and the trust of the fans," he said. Corbin Bosch is yet to feature in the Mumbai Indians line-up, who has opted to go with Trent Boult as their opening bowler. Bosch, however, was named as one of the Impact Player options multiple times by the franchise. MI will return to action on Sunday, where they will take on Delhi Capitals.
