Australian allrounder Cooper Connolly has been ruled out of Australia's T20I series against Pakistan after succumbing to a fracture in his left hand. The injury happened during the ODI series decider in Perth against Pakistan. Connolly was trying to hit a pull shot of Mohammad Husnain in the 17th over. But the ball hit his glove. Even though he played another ball but left immediately for scans. The reports confirmed a fracture to the fourth metacarpal. A spokesperson from Cricket Australia has announced that Connolly will consult a specialist in Perth. For now, they will announce a replacement for the T20 series anytime soon. Perth Scorchers and Cricket Australia to feel Connolly's absence The Big Bash League (BBL) will kick off on December 15, and the management of his team, Perth Scorcher, will monitor his recovery closely. However, Connolly suffering from the fracture is a huge setback for the Australian Cricket Team. The management was preparing him for the 2026 T20 World Cup. Known for his powerful batting and left-arm spin, he is highly rated by the national team. Connolly debuted in the UK in September, playing two T20Is, and was part of the Australia A squad for the recent series against India A, where he contributed with a solid 37 in the first game.
