Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Daniel Vettori has backed the team's aggressive approach with the bat, confirming that they will continue their attacking style despite recent losses. SRH have now suffered back-to-back losses, but Vettori has backed the team and said that they will not change their approach. The IPL 2024 finalists started their campaign on a high note, smashing 286 runs against the Rajasthan Royals, and completely dominated RR in the opening match. However, in their next two matches, they failed to cross the 200-run mark and ended up on the losing side both times. The team was reduced to 37 for 4 in the powerplay before Aniket Verma and Heinrich Klaasen steadied the innings, helping SRH post a total of 163. Despite their efforts, DC chased down the target comfortably, handing SRH their second straight loss. Speaking to the media after the match, Vettori made it clear that the team is not rethinking its approach. "There are no conversations. We definitely want to play an aggressive brand. If you look at our top three, that's how they play. They normally set the tone for the rest of us," he stated. Vettori also defended his batters, highlighting that on another day, some of their shots would have cleared the boundary instead of resulting in dismissals. "Abhishek was unlucky, Ishan and Travis on a different day may have hit those balls for six. We understand when we play this way, there may be failure, but hopefully, we can come to the party and perform more often than not," he added. 'Zeeshan Ansari was fantastic' Apart from their below-par batting approach, SRH found a silver lining in their bowling attack through the young leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari. The UP spinner impressed everyone by picking up three crucial wickets in the game. "He was fantastic. Right from the first day he came in, we knew that he was a talent. Trying to fit him into the team was one of the conversations early on," Vettori said. Ansari, who had played only one T20 match for his state before the IPL, made headlines after finishing as the leading wicket-taker in the inaugural UP T20 League, where he claimed 24 wickets in just 12 matches. "For him to give us the domestic leg-spin option, to take three big wickets tonight, and to continue to challenge the batsmen is something very promising for us going forward," Vettori added. Despite their recent losses, Sunrisers Hyderabad still have time to turn things around. They currently sit in 8th place on the points table with one win and two losses. The team will be against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 3, in a repeat of the IPL 2024 finals.
