The English fast bowler, Chris Woakes, shared India's heartwarming gesture after the guests sealed a win at the Oval by 6 runs. Woakes, who came to bat with his arm in a sling, spoke to The Guardian, where he recalled indian captain Shubman Gill's words, to which he returned back appreciation for Gill's outing in England. Woakes said, "Shubman said something like: ‘That was incredibly brave.' I told him: ‘You’ve had an unbelievable series, well played, and credit to your team.'" Woakes also said that Rishabh Pant reached out to him too. Rishabh too suffered from a toe fracture during the fourth Test at Manchester, trying to sweep a ball against Chris Woakes. Rishabh didn't play at The Oval but had shared a story on Instagram with Woakes' photo with a salute emoji. He even reached out to the pacer and sent a voice message. On that, Woakes said, “I saw Rishabh had put an image of me on Instagram with a salute emoji, so I replied thanking him: ‘Appreciate the love and hope the foot is OK’ etc. He then sent me a voice note saying: ‘I hope all is OK, good luck with the recovery and I hope we meet again out there some day.’ I obviously said sorry for the broken foot."
