Indian National Cricket Team batter Cheteshwar Pujara will be participating in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy as a commentator. He is all set to join the Hindi commentary panel for the series. The BGT series between India and Australia is all set to commence on November 22, with the first Test match of the series scheduled to be played at the WACA stadium in Perth. The series is crucial for the World Test Championship (WTC) final qualification. Both the teams are in the top two currently on the table and Australia being at the top will surely give them an edge over the Indian team. Pujara who had played brilliantly against the Australian team in the previous two editions of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will take on the commentary role. It is worth mentioning that the star batter Shubman Gill, has been ruled out of the Perth Test match. However, with Gill nursing an injury, Devdutt Padikkal could step into the lineup for the first Test in Perth. Cheteshwar Pujara played a pivotal role in India's historic 2018-19 series victory in Australia. Not only was he the Player of the Series, but he also amassed 521 runs across four Tests at an outstanding average of 74.42. In the next BGT series, Pujara once again became the backbone of India's batting lineup, enduring numerous blows to his body to give his teammates the freedom to score. His contributions in the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy were equally significant, with his memorable Gabba innings standing out as one of his finest performances.
