The Indian government would decide whether or not to allow India's cricket team to visit Pakistan for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. The tournament is slated to take place from February 19 to March 9. This was confirmed by BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla on Monday. Shukla spoke to the media on the sidelines of the second Test between India and Bangladesh. "No decision has been taken (yet). But our policy is that for international tours, we always seek the permission of the government. It's up to the government to decide whether our team should go to any country or our team should not go to any country," "In this case (also), whatever the government will decide, we will abide by that," India and Pakistan only share each other's company in ICC tournaments. India hasn't played in Pakistan since the 2008 bilateral series, following the Mumbai terror attacks. More than 150 people were killed in those attacks. Rumors are that India will not go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. The BCCI might ask the ICC to move the tournament from Pakistan to Sri Lanka or Dubai. The last edition of the Asia Cup adopted a hybrid model wherein India played all their matches in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka hosted nine games, whereas Pakistan hosted the other four. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) does not want the tournament to be moved out of Pakistan. Pakistan all-rounder Hasan Ali recently said the tournament should go on without India if they don't come. The ICC has said that it wouldn't pressure any board to take a step against their government's policy.
