As the 2025 edition of the Champions Trophy draws near, Varun Chakravarthy has been touted to be included in the 15-member squad. Reports even suggest that Varun Chakravarthy might be included in India's home series against England to get some game time before the big tournament. He has never played an ODI game but could get a chance soon. Amongst all the rumors of Chakravarthy's involvement, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra appreciated the form of spinner both in the domestic and international circuit with the ball. Here is what Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel "Varun Chakaravarthy is picking up wickets one after the other. He has done well in the Vijay Hazare Trophy also. He took a five-wicket haul against Rajasthan and has been continuously doing well. Since he has returned to the Indian T20I team, he has been picking up wickets every single time," He also made some speculations of Ravindra Jadeja getting left out of the playing eleven to accommodate this 33-year-old spinner. "The rumour market is hot, the Indian cricket atmosphere has become like that as we get a lot of source-based news and a few of them come true, that Varun Chakaravarthy could be picked for the Champions Trophy. If he gets picked, who will go out - Ravindra Jadeja? That's what I have been hearing," he added. "I hope I hadn't heard that but it has come now that Ravindra Jadeja might not be picked and you might see Varun Chakaravarthy in his place in the XI. There is a strong possibility. So, you will see Axar in place of Jaddu," noted Chopra. The Champions Trophy 2025 will be the ninth edition of the tournament. It is more likely that India will come with all their strongest suits, keeping in mind the subcontinental conditions.
