On February 17, India's bowling coach, Morne Morkel, left Dubai on an emergency basis after his father passed away. India is gearing up for the Champions Trophy 2025, and with a key support staff member missing, it may be a big issue for the bowling unit for India. Morne Morkel has reportedly attended India's first training session; however, he had to rush off from India's camp after his father's demise. According to a report of Dainik Jagran, there is no clue on when he will return, leaving a big vacuum in the coaching. With Morkel leaving, there will be added pressure on Gautam Gambhir, but it is uncertain if the Gautam Gambhir-led Indian management alongside captain Rohit Sharma, will seek a coaching substitute for Morkel or not. India might feel the impact of Morkel's absence in Dubai, where the pitch is expected to favor speed. With Jasprit Bumrah already unavailable, the departure of the assistant coach could further weaken an already vulnerable bowling attack.
