The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will take place in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi of Pakistan and the tournament is set to commence on February 19 and the final match will be played on March 9. However, a report coming in from The Telegraph UK revealed that the matches of team India might be shifted out of Pakistan, including the final (if they qualify). The final might be shifted to Dubai as per recent reports, and a decision is awaited by March 6. The semi-finals might also be shifted elsewhere. Abu Dhabi and Sharjah have been named as possible destinations. India has not fielded its cricket team to Pakistan since July 2008 as the political tensions between the countries have continued to raise. Recently, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi reportedly remained confident about the Champions Trophy that would take place in the country, saying they were prepared to welcome all teams, including India. I don’t see them cancel or postpone coming here and we are confident we will host all the teams in the Champions Trophy in Pakistan." He added: "The stadiums will also be ready to host the matches on schedule and any remaining work would be completed after the tournament." BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla said that a call would be taken by the Indian government on India's participation in the tournament being played in Pakistan. In the previous edition, BCCI was not present in Pakistan as the Indian government had turned down permission to go to Pakistan for Asia Cup. Pakistan and Sri Lanka had shared the responsibility of hosting Asia Cup last year. Based on the draft schedule, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh are in Group A, while Australia, England, South Africa, and Afghanistan are in Group B. This will be the first event in which an ICC Mega event is going to take place in Pakistan after it collaborated with India and Sri Lanka in hosting the 1996 ODI World Cup.
