The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 might experience serious issues of travel and security following India's airstrikes under "Operation Sindoor." The airstrikes hit terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK) in retaliation for the fatal terror attack in Pahalgam 15 days back. Because of the prevailing high-alert condition, many airports in India have been closed for safety measures. Airports in Dharamshala, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Gwalior, Bikaner, Bhuj and Kisangarh are some of the airports closed for the next couple of days. Dharamshala is set to host two matches in the upcoming days with Punjab Kings (PBKS), the hosts, facing Delhi Capitals (DC) on Thursday, May 8, followed by a game against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday, May 11. Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings have already arrived in Dharamshala, but there are concerns regarding whether the match will take place as scheduled. The stadium is near the border, and there are fears that the use of floodlights could be dangerous and assist Pakistan in identifying strategic points to target. A source revealed to TimesNow that: "Cannot give Pakistan an easy target with 25,000 people in the stadium in Dharamshala (with floodlights on). Better safe than sorry is what BCCI's approach is." Because Dharamshala's airport is closed, and even neighboring airports such as Amritsar and Chandigarh are closed, Mumbai Indians may have trouble reaching the stadium. According to reports, the match may either be rescheduled to Mumbai or be held on a different date. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is in negotiation with the government of India and will have to take a fast decision, more so as the league stage of the IPL runs only 11 days from now.
