Scotland beat Canada convincingly in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 match in King City on August 31, 2025. The game saw history being created when Canada became the first ever international team to lose both their openers on the first two balls of the very first over of an innings. Disastrous Beginning to Canada's Innings Scotland won the toss, and they opted to bowl first. Brad Currie struck on the very first ball of the game, sending Ali Nadeem packing, who edged the ball to Mark Watt at first slip. Drama did not stop there as the very next ball saw Pargat Singh, the next man in after Nadeem's wicket, playing a straight drive. Currie deflected the ball with his hand, and it went into the stumps at the non-striker's end, getting Canada's other opener Yuvraj Samra out without facing a ball. This was the first-ever incident in the history of international cricket in which a team lost both openers on the first two balls of the opening over.
