Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is becoming one of the most talked about youngsters in Indian cricket. The 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals batter is already making headlines thanks to his exploits with bat for both his franchise and in youth cricket. The prodigious youngster already boasts a century in the IPL for Rajasthan Royals. Sooryavanshi continued his run of success in the 2026 U19 Men's World Cup where he enjoyed a statistically memorable individual campaign. The batter aggregated 439 runs in 7 innings during the tournament, hitting an astonishing 30 sixes-the most by a player in a single U19 World Cup. His aggressive batting style and willingness to take on the bowlers earned him the praise of fans and pundits. The finale saw the 15-year-old record one of the greatest knocks in ICC tournament finals, scoring 175 off 80 deliveries. This is the highest individual score in any ICC tournament final at both youth and senior levels and saw Sooryavanshi walk away with both Player of the Match in the final and Player of the Tournament awards. According to ICC regulations, a player has to be 15 years or older to debut in an international game and Sooryavanshi turned 15 just a day before the commencement of the 2026 IPL on the 27th of March. With the ability to score all over the ground and at a high strike-rate, Sooryavanshi is a truly special player and stands shoulder to shoulder with other record-breaking youth ODI players. He is currently one of just three players to record multiple 150+ scores in youth ODIs, the others being Pulindu Perera of Sri Lanka and South Africa's Jorich van Schalkwyk. Although he has a tendency to lose composure under pressure due to his young age and may require some polishing in that department he is already a phenomenal talent and will surely grow into a stronger player as time goes on. With a fearless attitude and ability to play shots all around the ground along with the power to clear the ropes, Sooryavanshi could represent a future staple in the India limited-overs team in the years to come.
